We understand that now more than ever, businesses are looking at ways to be more efficient and save costs. At Sixo Transport, we always look at the detail of each individual job to ensure we can offer the most cost-effective solution for our customers.

There are some key considerations when looking at ways that you can reduce your logistics costs:

Using Fewer Suppliers

Businesses will often work with multiple transport companies in order to try and gain the best price for each consignment. Whilst this approach may provide minor savings on a job-by-job basis, it may not be so favourable for a bigger picture, long term strategy.

By reducing the number of road haulage suppliers you work with, not only will your life become significantly easier and more efficient, but you are likely to gain overall, long term savings. By providing your suppliers with larger volumes of work, lower rates are far more feasible.

Consolidate Your Shipments

One of the simplest ways to keep transport costs down, is to consolidate shipments where you can. We understand that this isn’t always possible as many consignments may be urgent, but where there is some flexibility on delivery deadlines, it’s always a good idea to combine as many consignments together, meaning less trips are needed and costs are kept to a minimum.

Consider Groupage Deliveries

Groupage deliveries (also known as part-loads or shared shipping), is a great way to reduce transport costs. If you have a relatively small consignment, it won’t be cost-effective to hire an entire vehicle. Groupage deliveries will make the rest of the space available for other companies, meaning the cost can be shared.

We are always striving to provide the most efficient and cost-effective service for our customers – if you need a quote for any business delivery, no matter how large or small, we can provide a solution that is right for you. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
